Jay-Z Suing Alabama Tea House 03:00PM ET December 2, 2009 Contributor : Hip Hop Blog Staff A Rocky Williform Company Most people don't know that whenever you hear music in a public place someone has to pay up. Apparently A Spot of Tea in Mobile, AL was trying to play without the pay. The tea house turns into club Insanity at night and publishing enforcers ASCAP caught them playing songs by Rihanna, Jay-Z, Bon Jovi and Michael Jackson. Several music publishers are suing the small business. Perhaps Jay should send his 40/40 "security guards" down to Alabama to pay the teahouse a visit.

Kelis, will.i.am and Jimmy Iovine weighed in on the signing through a press release: Kelis said "I love that I am now a new part of the Interscope family. 2010 is around the corner and I can't wait to put out new music and spend time with real music fans on tour again." This is the most access the public has ever been allowed to Tiger's personal life and quite possibly the most we ever will be. The real story may never come out but the spin control is definitely in effect. Tiger recently released this statement on his website: "I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone. Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect. But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don't share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions. Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it's difficult. I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology."

What most didn’t know is that the long time NYC DJ was moving to competitor Power 105.1. Earlier today Power 105's program director Cadillac Jack announced that DJ Envy would be taking over as the afternoon personality from 2-6pm weekdays. He will be taking over for Malikha Mallette who will be moving to morning as Ed Lover's co-host. "I'm thrilled to have DJ Envy add his energy and expertise to the Power team in afternoons! Moreover, Malikha and Ed have chemistry reminiscent of any great entertainment team. These 2 moves create the ultimate one-two punch for Power 105.1," said Cadillac Jack in a statement.

The rap superstar revealed to the magazine that his rapping days are coming to an end and that he would like to conquer acting next. "We just haven't found anything that's been the right thing at the right time," Em explained in an interview with Complex Magazine. "I have to be finished with this album and then I'll probably want to jump into something like that. I don't know if there's a movie where I'll want to be in every single scene again, but something, yeah...It was, 'I don't want to be a rapper when I'm 40,' and the next time we talk it will be, "I don't want to be a rapper when I'm 50." Sixty is the cut-off. I can't be no 60-year-old rapper, son!"
